I just bought some Burton hip and tailbone pads that I wear under my shorts when I skate the pool at Vans. The ones I got have this crazy material in them called d30, a light weight shock absorbing material that flexes for comfortable movement but in instances of collision the molecules lock up and absorb the impact. It’s crazy. The only reason I’m telling you this is because I went down so hard right on my tailbone coming off a wall in the pool and I didn’t feel a thing. If I wasn’t wearing those pads I wouldn’t be able to move today. Check out this video, it’s a bit wordy but it will show you what the material is like.
