Consumer televisions are in the beginning stages of being produced with 4K picture capability.  4K is 4,096 x 2,304 pixels compared to the current high def standard 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels.)  As TV’s get larger in size, resolution will need to increase to keep the integrity of the picture quality.  RED Digital Cinema has recently released the REDRAY, a 4K home cinema player that is capable of playing HD, 3D and 4K media formats.  REDRAY has an internal 1TB of storage and advanced RED codec that can compress feature length 4K files small enough to fit on a USB flash drive.  You’re looking at dropping about $1,450 for this player.  As soon as I get my 100 inch TV, I’m buying.
